Do people still holiday in Majorca in 2009? I thought Majorca closed down on 11:59pm, December 31st, 1989. I could be wrong though.

It’s by the ever eloquent Howard Jacobson. He was addressing some Oxford students in 1991, making the case against educated yoof’s wholesale adoption of demotic English. Even then he knew the war was lost.
